Application of Hot Isostatic Pressing in Nickel-Based Single Crystal Superalloys

Hot isostatic pressing (HIP) technology can effectively reduce microstructure defects such as micropores, which are formed during solidification and hominization heat treatment, thus further improve the high temperature performance of nickel-based SX superalloys. This paper reviews application HIP treatment in superalloys, focusing on dislocation-creep closure diffusion-creep mechanisms kinetics annihilation micropores by HIP. The effects different scheme pore mechanical properties compared. advantages disadvantages schemes summarized. In addition, additive manufacturing (AM) superalloys is also discussed.
